A NASA-built Atlas V rocket carrying a science satellite is the highest point in the company’s fleet. The rocket’s flight to the Space Launch Complex 39A is powered by two engines running at 750 kN, and the space station is being fueled by three as part of the mission’s final stages. The launch is part of a five-year partnership between NASA and Russian companies that includes a new satellite launching service and a planned orbital mission. The mission is one of NASA’s newest satellite launches, and it will deliver two science satellites and an astrophysics mission to the space station.
